8.8 Million Votes Cast Nationwide by 4 PM

Kathmandu, March 5 — Around 8.8 million votes had been cast across the country by 4 PM in the ongoing House of Representatives election.Voting, which began at 7 AM, is taking place in 165 constituencies nationwide. According to the Election Commission of Nepal, polling is continuing peacefully at most of the 10,967 polling stations across the country, with only minor incidents reported.Nearly 350,000 security personnel have been deployed to ensure safety during the election. According to Nepal Police central spokesperson and DIG Abhi Narayan Kafle, voting has been proceeding peacefully in all areas except Dolakha.Voting will continue until 5 PM.
