Illegal Coal Mine Explosion in Meghalaya, India Leaves 25 Dead


Kathmandu , At least 25 people have died in an explosion at an illegal coal mine in East Jaintia Hills district, Meghalaya, India.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar stated that the rescue team has recovered four more bodies from the site. Investigations and rescue operations are still ongoing.


The explosion occurred on Thursday morning at a coal mine under the jurisdiction of Umpling Police Station, reportedly caused by the use of dynamite. Local authorities have confirmed that rescue and detailed investigation efforts are underway.
