Chitwan — The cost of producing one egg has increased to NPR 19.12, according to a new study by the Agriculture and Forestry University. The previous cost was NPR 16.56.The rise is mainly due to higher expenses in chick purchase, feed, medicines, and vaccines. Feed alone accounts for the largest share of the cost while producing eggs from 10,000 layer hens.Poultry farmers say the growing production cost may soon affect market egg prices.
